Before Your Appointment

What to Expect and How to Prepare for Your Massage

What to Expect at Your Appointment

My Massage Studio:

  • Purpose-built for relaxation: Our studio is designed to be a calming space that helps you unwind.
  • Full-size massage couch: Covered by a large towel for your comfort and privacy.
  • Changing Room & Toilet Facility: Covered by a large towel for your comfort and privacy.
  • Air Purifier & Ventilation System: Ensures clean air by removing 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns.
  • Aromatherapy Oils: We use high-quality aromatherapy oils, tailored to help you relax, energize, or de-stress depending on your preferences.

Your First Visit – Intake Process: We start every first appointment with a short health history intake. To ensure we have enough time for this, try to arrive 10 minutes earlier. Here’s what we’ll talk about:

  • Your medical history and current conditions.
  • Any areas of concern, such as muscle tightness or pain.
  • How you manage your pain, and what techniques you’ve tried before.
  • Your overall comfort level, especially on good and bad days.

During the Massage:

  • Only the area being massaged will be uncovered, and we take your privacy seriously.
  • Music will be played for a relaxing ambiance, but feel free to request a different style or ask for silence if you prefer.
  • If at any point you feel cold, uncomfortable, or would like adjustments to the pressure or technique, just let your therapist know. Your comfort is our priority.
Important thing to do before your massage

Here are a few things you can do to get the most out of your upcoming massage:

1. Stay Hydrated:
Drinking plenty of water before your appointment can help your body release toxins that get moved around during the massage.

2. Take a Hot Bath or Shower:
Bathing or taking a hot shower just before your appointment can help your muscles relax and allow the oils we use to be better absorbed by your skin.

3. Avoid Alcohol and Heavy Meals:
Try not to eat or drink alcohol just before your massage, as this can make you feel sluggish or uncomfortable.

4. Arrive Early and Relax:
Give yourself enough time to get to the studio calmly. If you arrive stressed or rushed, it may take longer to relax into the massage.

What should you wear?

To the Studio:
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. Massage can cause a drop in body temperature, so it’s wise to bring warm clothes for when you leave.

On the Massage Couch:
Most clients undress for their massage, but it’s completely fine if you feel more comfortable wearing underwear. Your modesty will be respected at all times, and only the area being massaged will be uncovered.

Jewelry:
We recommend leaving any jewelry at home, as it will need to be removed during the massage.

Body Areas Massaged

Face and Feet

  • We do not routinely include the face or feet in our standard treatments. However, massage to either area can be provided on a case-by-case basis, depending on your preferences and the nature of the session. Please feel free to discuss this with us in advance.

Buttocks

  • The buttocks area is usually included in our massages. However, if you prefer not to have this area massaged, please let us know. Before starting the massage, we will always ask if you are comfortable with the buttocks being massaged to ensure your preferences are respected.
Cancellations, No-Shows, and Late Arrivals

We understand that life can be unpredictable, but we ask for at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Failing to give sufficient notice or not showing up will result in a charge for the full appointment cost.

  • Late Arrivals: If you’re running late, we will still provide the best experience possible in the remaining time, but unfortunately, we cannot extend your session or adjust future bookings to make up for missed time.
